DOG WALKING

Everybody needs some exercise

Have you been walking your dog? Many people are not aware that dog walking provides a lot of benefits for their precious fur-baby. Some breeds require a lot of exercise and without exercise they can begin to exhibit bad behaviors such as chewing on shoes and couches.

Many high energy breeds were not intended on being the household pet such as herding dogs like Australian Shepherds and Border Collies, hunting breeds like some coon dogs, Labradors, Huskies, Akitas, Malamutes, Boxers, Norwegian Lundehunds and more. Some of these breeds have been known to become aggressive due to the build up of energy, so make sure you are walking your dog daily at least once, but hopefully more.

Don't get me wrong those breeds can make great pets for high energy humans or those that have some way of getting them the exercise they need such as hiring a dog walker.

Are your vet bills getting expensive? People walk to keep their bodies healthy. That being said, your dog's health is important too. Dog walking can not only keep your dog happy and healthy, but save you money down the road on unnecessary veterinary expenses. Some breeds such as Shepherds and other large breed dogs face serious issues like lip dysplasia. Low impact exercises like swimming or walking greatly help with strengthening their muscles and reducing pain. Too much of a good thing can also be damaging, so make sure they set the pace and you try to keep walks around 20 minutes of steady walking.
